Greetings Readers,
The results are in and we have collected the largest response ever to a Trade Show Tips Readers’ Survey. We offer a heartfelt “thank you” to all of you who have taken a few moments from your busy schedule to respond and tell us what concerns you most. The results can be found below.
We also received an enormous number of personal tips from all over the country about all aspects of putting on a face-to-face marketing event. To those of you who have shared both your time and a piece of your exhibiting wisdom, a special thanks.
Read on and enjoy.
Sincerely,
Marc Phibbs - Vice President, Marketing

The winner of our drawing is Dana Howcroft of Sunrise Engineering, Draper UT. Thank you, Dana, and thank you to everyone else who took the time to respond and send us a tip. We will be telling you more about the tips next month and including as many as we can in the upcoming issues throughout the year.
Here is the Trade Show Tip that she submitted along with her response:
“I give a small handful of our logo pens or mechanical pencils to booth staffers who are nervous about approaching people. They hold these items in their left hand which keeps them from folding their hands in a
'fig leaf' or crossing their arms, and encourages a more inviting posture. Our staffers offer the pens/pencils to show attendees and invite them to stop at our booth to complete an at-show drawing/lead retrieval form. Our staff can then build on the initial conversation and when ready, have their right hand free for shaking hands with the attendees.”
